How Our Loan-Matching Service Works

One short request, a quick match with lenders in our network, and offers you can compare on your own terms. Here is every stage, start to finish.

Our service sits between you and a network of lenders. You tell us what you need once, we look for lenders whose criteria may fit, and any lender that responds shows you its own terms. We never lend money, set rates or decide who is approved. This page explains each stage in plain terms so you know exactly what to expect before you share any details.

The short version of how our matching service works

Our matching service takes one short request for $500 to $5,000, compares it with lender criteria in our network, and passes it to lenders that may fit. Those lenders send offers, and you choose whether to accept any of them.

Using the service is free for borrowers. Lenders in the network may pay us when a loan is made, which is how we cover our costs without charging you. That arrangement never changes what you pay the lender, and you are under no obligation to accept an offer.

Stage one: describing what you need

The process starts when you describe the amount you want, why you need it and how to reach you. A clear, accurate description helps lenders judge quickly whether they can make you a useful offer.

The form asks for the basics a lender needs to make a first judgment: the loan amount, its purpose, your contact details, your income and how you are paid, and the checking account where funds would land. People often arrive after searching for everest business funding to cover a car repair or a vet bill, and the purpose you pick helps route the request to lenders that handle that kind of need.

Stage two: matching your request with lenders

Matching compares your request against each lender's rules, such as supported states, minimum income, loan size and credit range. Only lenders whose rules may fit your details receive the request, which keeps irrelevant contact to a minimum.

Matching is automated and usually takes seconds. A match is not an approval; it only means a lender may be willing to review your request. Some requests find several lenders, some find one, and some find none, often because of the amount or the state rather than anything you did wrong.

Stage three: receiving and reviewing offers

Offers arrive in different ways depending on the lender: on screen right after you submit, through a link to the lender's own site, or by email or phone. Each offer should show the APR, term, payment and fees.

Many lenders show preliminary terms using a soft credit inquiry, which does not affect your score. If you continue with one lender, it may run a hard inquiry and ask for documents such as a pay stub or ID. Compare every offer by APR and total repayment, not by monthly payment alone.

Representative example (estimate only): borrowing $2,000 for 12 months at 24.89% APR works out to about $189.98 per month, $2,279.78 total repaid and $279.78 in interest. Your actual terms come from the lender.

Stage four: your decision and the lender's

Two decisions finish the process: yours and the lender's. You choose whether to accept an offer, and the lender makes the final approval after verifying your identity, income and credit. Approval is not guaranteed at any point.

If you accept and the lender approves you, you sign the loan agreement directly with that lender. Funds are commonly deposited within one to two business days, though timing depends on the lender and your bank. From that point on, your payments, statements and questions about the balance all go to the lender, not to us.

If none of the offers feel right, you can simply decline. Nothing is owed, and declining does not affect your credit.

What our service does not do

Our service does not lend money, collect payments, charge borrowers fees or promise approval. It also does not pressure you to accept an offer or ask for upfront payments, gift cards or your online banking password.

We are an independent service and are not connected to any company with a similar name. If someone contacts you claiming to represent us and asks for money before a loan is funded, end the conversation; that is a scam, not part of our process.

Where to go next

Most people find it helpful to check eligibility and typical rates first, then estimate a payment, and only then submit a request. Each of those steps has its own page on our site.
